Do you ever get the feeling….that you’re boring your friends to death with your constant prattle about writing and books and just about everything else they didn’t originally watch your journal for? I know I did, and that’s why I’m here, starting a new one
. I’ll still use that old journal a great deal, but this one…this one is just for the benefit of tracking my writing progress.
And the progress has been slow, at best. Not that I’m in a hurry to rush the creativity. A lot of the hard work for the main book I’m working to get published has been done already–now it’s going through the revision process for resubmission. Yes, it has already been sent out to publishers, and I’m happy to admit that they said “no”
. I look at it like this: I’ve gotten farther than all the other people out there, those that I know and those that I do not, that spend years revising without a single attempted submission under their belt. Perfection is cute, but accepting the failure is the real key to success. So, my revisions have begun!
The prologue was no problem. A few punches here, more pop there, and it’s all set to go. Chapter One…I’m ready to strangle. It was one of the chapters that I admittedly wasn’t too thrilled about, hence why its rewrite is giving me a headache. Still, I hope to have it done and mailed out again by late June. I’ve got faith in myself =)
As far as the netbook (you know; internet book), I’m feeling rather accomplished right now. I managed to find some time to squeeze, and was able to summarize chapters one through three. I usually go from summary to outline to press, but since this is just an online thing for fun, I decided to cut the middle step. With any luck, it should still work out.
